Multiliteracy and linguistic diversity in the digital age
This subproject targets pre-service teachers of French and Spanish (secondary level) from France, the Czech Republic, and Germany, language learners in Colombia, as well as faculty members at partner universities in Paris, Brno, and Medellín.
The central objective is the joint development of guidelines to promote multilingualism and inclusive language use in the context of Romance language acquisition. The project takes into account both European and non-European perspectives, as well as varying cultural and educational policy frameworks.
Project activities include professional exchange on the challenges of foreign language teaching in different countries - for instance, the teaching of Spanish in France or French in Colombia. Particular emphasis is placed on diversity-aware approaches and didactics of multilingualism.
The practical implementation involves expanding support structures for French-speaking students completing internships at schools and Franco-German institutions in Berlin and Brandenburg. Additionally, the supervision of bilateral master’s theses will be intensified, with thematic focuses such as the promotion of multilingualism, diversity in language education, and the treatment of indigenous languages in Colombia.
Another key element of the subproject is the organization of an international summer school, which will explore multilingual didactics and inclusive practices in greater depth. Complementing this, teaching materials will be developed and published as Open Educational Resources (OER), ensuring permanent and open access for students. The subproject will also award scholarships for study visits to Colombia, supporting the development of intercultural competencies among future teachers.
