Prof. Dr. Stephan Sobolev (Institute of Geosciences, in cooperation with GFZ Potsdam) has been invited to become a member of the Academia Europaea. He is currently Principal Investigator of the ERC Synergy Grant for the MEET project (Monitoring Earth Evolution through Time, 2020-2026) in the Geodynamic Modelling Section at the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam - GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences.
The Academia Europaea promotes outstanding scientific achievements worldwide in the humanities, law, economics, social and political sciences, as well as in the natural and technical sciences. Admission to the Academia Europaea is by invitation only and is subject to a rigorous selection process by the respective section. The main criterion for membership is the candidate's sustained academic excellence in his or her field.
