Max Deter has been a research associate at the Chair of Public Sector, Finance and Social Policy since October 2023. In February 2022, he received his PhD from the University of Wuppertal on "Evidence on How Institutions Affect Individual Behavior and Economic Outcomes". Before joining the University of Potsdam, he already gained experience as a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Finance of Prof. Knabe at the University of Magdeburg. Furthermore, Max Deter is a visiting scholar at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) in the Department of Government. His research interests are in political economy, regional economics and labor markets with a special focus on the German Democratic Republic (DDR).
