We took a cable car to Hohe Mut and as soon as we arrived, bells started ringing. Why bells? Well, sheeps were coming to say hi and to kindly ask for some rubs (Which were of course given!). During our to the glacier, we had a side quest to complete: Collect cool rocks to learn about their composition and history, taught by none other than the very wise Prof. Bernhard Diekmann (How many excursions has he done so far? 50?). After a few hours of hiking, many astonishing views and a lot of snacks, we finally arrived at Gaisbergferner glacier. It was a breathtaking but humbling sight, as the glacier has receded a lot in comparison to the excursions in the years before. After taking in the scenery, we decided to head back to the hut. Right before we arrived at the gondola station, a marmot gave a warning call and we waved to it. Just before the bus stop, cows were leaving their alm to go to bed and accompanied us down the street.
