Since 1 March 2025, I have been working as an anti-discrimination officer in the Coordination Office for Equal Opportunities at the University of Potsdam.
Main areas of work
I mainly offer confidential counselling for those affected by experiences of discrimination and support the initiation and monitoring of complaints procedures (if required).
My counselling is available to university members of all status groups (students, employees and other members) of the University of Potsdam.
If you are not sure whether you are affected by discrimination or would simply like to have a clarifying conversation, please contact me. I attach particular importance to making the invisible visible and creating spaces in which it is possible to ‘talk about it’.
Together we will find out how you would like to proceed or whether the initial consultation should be all that remains. Your wishes and goals are the top priority in all discussions.
Counselling approach
In my counselling sessions, I work confidentially, independently and impartially in the interests of those seeking advice.
I support people who (have) experienced discrimination in a protected environment - with the aim of providing guidance, pointing out possible courses of action and, if necessary, accompanying them through a complaints procedure. My counselling approach is based on the principles of transactional analysis. I work in a resource-orientated, transparent manner and at eye level. My professional practice is characterised by the attitude that every person is fundamentally capable of thinking, feeling and making decisions. This also means enduring ambivalence and developing viable steps together - regardless of whether the issue is of a structural, communicative or individual nature.
I see counselling as joint reflection and action that always takes the institutional framework conditions into account. It is important to me to clearly communicate the limits and possibilities of counselling and, if necessary, to refer people to suitable agencies.
