Food and Society

Content: The lecture deals with fundamental questions regarding eating habits and our society. What do we eat, what not and why? How do economic circumstances, rituals, culture and religion, as well as geographic locations influence our decision-making with regards to food?

Introduction to Ancient Epigraphy

Content: This propaedeutic tutorial offers an introductory insight into the study of ancient texts and into the field of epigraphy, a subdiscipline of the historical sciences.

Linguistic Landscapes: Mapping Old and New Minority Languages in the Cities of the EDUC Network

Content: The long-term projects deals with making multilingual practices in the urban sphere visible: be it graffiti, informal messages and public and commercial symbols and signs.

Geodynamics, Climate and Biodiversity

Content: To answer questions concerning climate change and biodiversity, this multidisciplinary Masters seminar will be adapting and applying theories from the fields of geology and evolutionary biology.
