Professor Dr. Christin Siegfried has been a W3 Professor of Business and Economics Education for Vocational Teacher Education at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Potsdam since March 1, 2025. Prior to this appointment, she conducted research at Goethe University Frankfurt, completed her habilitation in 2022, and was appointed to a professorship at Weingarten University of Education in 2023.
Her main research areas include professionalization in teacher education, with a particular focus on the development of economic competence models for pre-service and in-service teachers. Another key area of her work is the promotion of economic education, for example through research on instructional concepts and curricular learning opportunities aimed at fostering economic and civic competence. In addition, she conducts research on the use of digitalization to support learning processes, especially the targeted use of digital media in the design of effective learning environments. Furthermore, she is actively engaged in scholarly work on continuing education for educationally disadvantaged target groups, with the aim of developing equitable educational opportunities and strengthening participation in lifelong learning.
