Job opportunities

Dear All,

applications for two PhD positions in the Theoretical Chemistry group of Prof. Peter Saalfrank are invited at the Institute of Chemistry of University of Potsdam, Germany.

Position 1: "An ab initio molecular dynamics and correlation function approach to dissipative adsorbate vibrational spectroscopy"

Position 2: "Laser-driven electron dynamics in molecules"

Both positions are to be filled as soon as possible, for a duration of the appointment of 3 years. Both are funded by the "German Research Council" (DFG), at a Salary Scale 13 TV-L, 67%.

The positions imply the opportunity for a PhD thesis in Theoretical Chemistry,  on the topics formulated above. The positions involve teaching duties to a small extent in order to fulfill the prerequisites for obtaining a PhD at the University of Potsdam.

The successful candidates are expected to hold a master degree or comparable in chemistry or physics or related fields. Experience in programming and / or familiarity with quantum chemical software is a plus.
