Information Regarding Campaign Funding for the StuPa Elections 2025
The student parliament has established rules for the financing of election campaign expenses by resolution of 6th May 2025. The Student Election Committee (StWA) provides the following important information:
Legal Basis
The legal basis for election campaign support is the resolution passed by the student parliament at the 16th ordinary meeting of the student parliament on 6 May 2025.
The formalities for applying for election campaign funding are set out below by the StWA in accordance with paragraph 3 of the resolution of the Student Parliament of 6 May 2025.
Amount of Campaign Funding
The amount of campaign support for the StuPa election 2025 is € 150. The financial support will only be paid out if the list receives at least one mandate in the student parliament according to the election results determined by the StWA and a successful application for election campaign funding has been submitted on time.
Procedure and Requirements
Applications for election campaign funding must be submitted to the StWA by 16 June 2025, 12:00 noon at the latest via the Student Election Committee's post office box on the Griebnitzsee campus, House 1, August-Bebel-Straße 89, 14482 Potsdam as a postal submission. Late submission will not be recognised, even in cases of force majeure.
To submit an application, the relevant form for campaign funding must be filled out and, if the electoral list did not win at least one mandate in the last election to the student parliament, at least 94 signatures must be collected from students at the University of Potsdam. Students may only sign for one electoral list at a time; multiple signatures or signatures from non-students are invalid. To be on the safe side, we recommend collecting more than the required number of signatures. The StWA form must be used.
Electoral lists that have already competed in the 2024 student parliament elections and won at least one mandate must complete the relevant form and submit it to the Student Election Committee.
All lists applying for campaign funding must affirm that they actively support the free democratic order and the values of the self-governing student body within the meaning of Section 17 (1) BbgHG.
All applications will be reviewed by the Student Election Committee upon reception. To speed up the review process, we recommend that you also send the applications, including signatures, by email to stwaulists.astauppde to enable the quickest possible ruling. This does not replace the submission via the post office box.
Financial Settlement
The General Students' Committee (AStA) is responsible for accounting for the funds provided as long as the corresponding list has won at least one mandate in the StuPa according to the election results determined by the StWA. It must be submitted to the AStA no later than four weeks after the election results have been announced. The StWA publishes a data protection-compliant overview of the requested funds together with the election transcript at the latest.
