The EXIST program supports university members in successfully turning innovative business ideas into reality. With financial funding, coaching, and extensive networks, EXIST paves the way for your startup journey. We support you with the application process for your EXIST startup grant.

Who is funded?

  • Researchers from public, non-profit, non-university research institutions/universities
  • University graduates or former academic staff (up to 5 years after graduation or retirement)
  • Students who are about to complete their degree programme (in terms of credit points) at the time of application

Prerequisites

  • Your company has not yet been founded.
  • Your project is innovative and knowledge- or technology-orientated.
  • Your project offers an innovative knowledge-based service or product that is based on scientific findings

Special cases for team startups: 

  • Your team may consist of a maximum of 3 members.
  • Your team can also be funded if one team member has a state-recognised vocational qualification. 
  • A team member may have graduated more than 5 years ago.
