Professor Dr. Maik Heinemann studied economics at the University of Hannover where he received his doctoral degree in 1994 and qualified as a professor in 1999.
From 2002-2003 he took up a deputy professorship for economics at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and in 2003 he took up a deputy professorship for econometrics at the Georg-August-Uiversity Göttingen. Maik Heinemann was appointed as professor for economics in 2004 at the University of Lüneburg.
In 2011 he was appointed as a professor for economic growth, integration and sustainable development at the University of Potsdam.
His main focus in research includes dynamic macroeconomics, monetary theory and policy as well as growth and distribution.
