Funding applications to the structural division “Cognitive Sciences” (SBKW)

The structural division “Cognitive Sciences” (SBKW) has its own budget, by means of which it supports funding applications from the cognitive sciences at the University of Potsdam. An application is usually possible between February and October of the financial year. Regarding other time periods, please contact Anikó Grellmann (coordinator).

Please send applications to Prof. Dr. Michela Schröder-Abé (spokesperson for the SBKW) and to Anikó Grellmann. The Board of SBKW decides on the applications in its monthly meetings and evaluates the applications according to the following criteria:

• Degree of interdisciplinarity
• Degree of contribution to internationalization
• Degree of a cooperative aspect
• Degree of excellent research
• Degree of utility as groundwork to a subsequent, extensive project (seed funding)

In addition, junior researchers are asked to submit their applications first to the FNK and the POGS before they can be evaluated in the SBKW. In their applications, professors should always quantify their own financial contribution to the proposed project. Students (Bachelor and Master) cannot be funded. For pilot studies, there is a maximum request of € 2.000, applications for a higher funding require a special justification.

Please be already reminded of the obligation to report funded projects at the end of the year.
