HAY! How are you? The health survey of students at the University of Potsdam
The University of Potsdam student health survey “HAY! How are you?” took place in the summer of 2025. After several months, we were able to successfully complete the survey and are now looking forward to 2026, which will feature themed weeks addressing key aspects of the survey. Throughout the 2026 summer semester, there will be a comprehensive range of courses on offer, providing weekly support services for all students at the University of Potsdam, the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences and the Film University Babelsberg.
All topics are listed below. Check HERE now for course availability.
Current status: We are currently working on analysing the collected data and plan to publish the results in the second quarter of 2026. The results report is set to be presented for the first time at the panel discussion “Feed Fatigue - why we keep scrolling anyway” on May 21, 2026.

As part of the HAY! How are you? health survey, we aim to gain a comprehensive picture of how students at the University of Potsdam are actually doing. We do not view the question “How are you?” as a mere formality, but as a starting point for taking a nuanced look at both mental and physical well-being. The focus is equally on the challenges of everyday student life as well as individual resources, health behaviours and daily habits.
The results of the survey form an important basis for better understanding and specifically developing everyday university life. On this basis, strategies and faculty-specific measures are to be developed that strengthen students’ health and contribute to a supportive study environment. Existing mental health services will thus be usefully supplemented and further expanded.
The survey itself covers various topics, including general information about your studies, individual stressors and resources, aspects of well-being, and personal health behaviours – such as exercise, diet or media use. The survey takes around 20 minutes to complete.
