Zentrum für Qualitätsentwicklung in Lehre und Studium: Gastvortrag „How do we build knowledge? Art as an eye-opener“
What can be achieved by using artistic methods at a university? And what kind of educational and learning processes are made possible by aesthetic learning arrangements?
These questions will be answered in a guest talk by Tone Cronblad Krosshus (associate professor in drama and theater) and Elisabeth Hovde Johannesen (associate professor in Norwegian literature and language) next Tuesday, November 25.
Prof. Krosshus and Prof. Johannesen work at the University of South-Eastern Norway, where they lead the research group “Aesthetic learning processes". They will give a short presentation on one of the research group’s projects, “Art as an eye-opener”. This project started in 2018 with the purpose of investigating how art and art experiences can be or lead to learning processes. Now, the project has evolved into various teaching practices and research outcomes.
In their talk, Krosshus and Johannesen will address the following questions: What can we learn from this aesthetic perspective for teaching and learning processes at our university? What can we learn from this for quality development in teaching? Where does quality assurance reach its limits?
