Unsettled Grounds: (Re)imagining Place, Identity, and Power in the Postcolonial World
The MA student conference, Unsettled Grounds: (Re)imagining Place, Identity, and Power in the Postcolonial World, will be held on 10–11 November 2025 at Haus 8, Am Neuen Palais. Organised by the Institute of English and American Studies, Universität Potsdam, the conference invites conversations around the unsettled terrains of global modernities, exploring how literary and cultural texts imagine borders and nationhood. The conference welcomes critical discussions that engage with ecological, feminist, queer, and diasporic perspectives; practices of surveillance and postcolonial sovereignty; affect theory; colonial legacies; and alternative visions of community, ecology, and futurity.
