Aims and Content

The Master's degree program in Psychological Educational Research aims to equip students with advanced knowledge in empirical analysis, design, and evaluation of educational processes. The program integrates psychological and educational science perspectives, enabling graduates to apply evidence-based findings to optimise teaching and learning processes in school and non-school contexts.
A key component of the program is profound methodological training, with a particular focus on quantitative research methods. Students also gain specialised knowledge in areas such as socialization and participation, transfer and implementation, as well as the psychological fundamentals of educational research.

The program’s strong practical orientation is complemented by a mandatory practical module or a semester abroad. These enable students to apply their acquired academic knowledge in genuine research and application contexts. In addition, a project-based course provides the opportunity to design and conduct an independent research project. The degree program thus offers excellent preparation for a career in academia as well as for professional roles in educational research, educational management, and educational consulting.

prepares students optimally for an academic career as well as for professional activities in educational research, educational management and counselling.
