Information on data protection

We process your personal data in compliance with the applicable data protection regulations, in particular the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Brandenburg Data Protection Act (BbgDSG).

Purpose of data processing

The purpose of processing the data you provide in the application form is to carry out the application process for the UPtransition qualification program.

Legal basis for data processing

The legal basis for data processing results from Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. e GDPR in conjunction with. § Section 14 (9) BbgHG ). According to this, the universities of the state of Brandenburg may process personal data of students in connection with the implementation of their studies and the use of university facilities.

Recipient of the data

Your data may be processed internally by administrators of the Center for Information Technology and Media Management (ZIM) and employees of the Career Service and University College of the Center for Quality Development in Teaching and Learning (ZfQ) as well as the ZfQ office.

In the case of participation in the program, three surveys are conducted on behalf of the funding body. The survey data collected in this context will be passed on to the aforementioned funding bodies of the UPtransition project:

You receive separate information on data protection from the funding bodies for these surveys.

Duration of data storage

The data of applicants who do not participate in the program will be deleted 6 months after receipt of the rejection. Data of applicants who participate in the qualification program will be permanently deleted at the end of the project (09/2026).

Your rights

You have the right to request information from us about the processing of personal data concerning you. In addition to a copy of the personal data, this right to information also includes details of the purpose of the data processing, data recipients and the storage period.

If incorrect personal data is processed, you can request that we correct this data. If the legal requirements of Art. 17 or 18 GDPR are met, you also have the right to have your personal data erased or to restrict processing. Please note that it may not be possible to restrict the processing of data. You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format or to request that it be transmitted to another controller (Art. 20 GDPR). If data processing is permitted without your consent, you can object to the processing under the conditions of Art. 21 GDPR.
