Mathematics Education in the Digital Age (Didactics of Mathematics)

The objective of this subproject is to establish and expand long-term international collaborations in teaching and research, thereby creating new opportunities for academic exchange for both students and faculty. The thematic intersections within the research profiles of the participating universities present valuable potential for the internationalization of teacher education. Shared academic content is intended to be directly integrated into teaching activities.

  1. Expansion of the institutional partnership with the University of Iceland

A key milestone in this initiative is a delegation visit by representatives from the University of Iceland to the University of Potsdam. During the visit, a series of workshops and lectures will be offered to Potsdam students, aiming to introduce the University of Iceland in Reykjavík as a prospective destination for semester-long or short-term academic stays.

  1. Establishment of an institutional partnership with the University of Pisa

In parallel, a structured collaboration is being initiated with the University of Pisa. This partnership aims to foster joint teaching and research projects and to strategically capitalize on existing thematic synergies in the field of teacher education. A central objective is the development of a joint teaching format—such as a COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) seminar or an international summer school. In the long term, these formats are intended to support opportunities for Internationalization@home and to encourage extended study periods at partner institutions through targeted scholarship programs.
