Why and how the University Celebrates Helmholtz
Hermann von Helmholtz was born in Potsdam 200 years ago. He is one of the last international universal geniuses and is also considered the inventor of interdisciplinary research. Helmholtz is the namesake for numerous formulas and physical laws. He is a role model for hundreds of teaching and research institutions and ultimately embodies important ideals and visions of the University of Potsdam. Together with many cooperation partners, the University of Potsdam would like to celebrate the 200th birthday of the famous Potsdam scientist in 2021. On the one hand, by recalling what and how he researched and which discoveries (that are commonplace for us today) can be traced back to Helmholtz. On the other hand, the university intends to implement Helmholtz's visionary integrative approach to research into the 21st century.

May 8 2021:
Why actually is Helmholtz so famous? The Potsdam physician made inventions that we still use today and recognized natural phenomena that are so commonplace for us that we don't even think about them. With three video hands-on home experiments - our digital Helmholtz Experiment DIY-Kits - we want to prove that Helmholtz was a genius.

Helmholtz Science Dinner in the Wissenschaftetage at the Bildungsforum Potsdam. Entertainingly staged and expertly presented: ProWissen invites you to a special dinner. Our guests will have the opportunity to talk with a renowned Helmholtz researcher during a thematically prepared four-course meal.
