Researchers took to the stage at the University of Potsdam's Science Slam in the Waschhaus Arena.

Mathematics, statistics, politics and complicated models – are they boring and incomprehensible? Not at all! The five speakers wowed the audience with entertaining and witty presentations on topics such as heart health and the erosion of democracy, making it difficult for the jury to select a winner.

Ultimately, the winner was Dr Mareike Prüfer, a biochemist who explained what good separations are and how they can improve the world.

Bryan Nowack, a successful slammer himself, hosted the evening in his usual charming manner.

A particular highlight was philosopher Marie-Luise Raters' rap, which she performed as a thank you to her students.

We look forward to the next Science Slam, which will take place on 17 July 2025 at 5 pm at the University Campus Potsdam-Golm!
