Werner Jann is senior professor for Political Science, Administration and Organization at the University of Potsdam. From  1993 to 2015 he held the chair of Political Science, Administration and Organization at the University of Potsdam. After his academic education and post-doc work at Universities in Berlin, Edinburgh, Speyer and Berkeley, he worked as Head of the 'Think-Tank Schleswig-Holstein' (Denkfabrik Schleswig-Holstein) in the Prime-Ministers Office of the Land Schleswig-Holstein in Kiel from 1989 - 1993. He was President of the European Group of Public Administration (EGPA) from 2001 to 2004, is Vice-Presdident of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) and has been a member of several national and international reform commissions (2002-2009 member of ' Committee of Experts on Public Administration' UN, New York).
