Author’s workshop on Translation hosted by WIPCAD, 27-28 October 2016, Potsdam

With the great support of WIPCAD, post-doc fellow Dr. Alejandro Esguerra and Dr. Tobias Berger (FU Berlin) organized a book workshop on translation in world politics (27-28 October 2016).

This two-day workshop invited scholars to take up the challenge of rethinking aspects of world politics through the concept of translation as theorized in International Relations, Science and Technology Studies, Post-colonial and policy studies. The workshop brought together scholars from across Europe who discussed (a) how institutions are sites of translational work, (b) how current development projects are designed in Europe and what kind of effect they have in developing countries, (c) how concepts and stories travel within organizations including their performative effects.

The workshop has built on a workshop at the Käte Hamburger Kolleg / Centre for Global Cooperation Research in 2015.

The results of the workshop will be published in Routledge’s Series on Global Cooperation in 2017.
