Staff Council
Staff councils represent employees' interests within the department. They advise employees on personnel and labour law issues, provide support in conflicts, and help create good working conditions. You will find information about the staff councils and their contact details on these pages.
General Staff Council- Representation of Interests for Employees at the University of Potsdam
The General Staff Council represents the interests of University of Potsdam employees (excluding those specified in § 90 (1) LPersVG) in cross-departmental matters of a social, organisational, or other internal nature, such as occupational health and safety and accident prevention.
The Council coordinates the work of local staff councils formed within departments subject to joint departmental management.
Members of the General Staff Council are elected by employees of departments in which a General Staff Council is to be formed.

Trainees (Azubis) have the right to visit the JAV during working hours without giving any reasons!

Our tasks and duties
- We have a say in hiring, retaining or dismissing trainees and dual students.
- We ensure that laws, contracts and rules are complied with in training and dual study programmes.
- What you entrust to us stays with us!
- We regularly discuss current issues affecting you and your training or dual study programme.
- If changes need to be made to your training or dual study programme, we will act in your best interests.
