- Dr. Avelina Lovis-Schmidt served as a research associate at the Chair of Developmental Psychology and Educational Psychology at Chemnitz University of Technology from 2019 to 2025. She completed her studies in psychology (B.Sc., M.Sc.) at Chemnitz University of Technology and earned her doctoral degree (Dr. rer. nat.) in 2021 with a dissertation on emotional development and its relevance for physical health.
- Her habilitation, focusing on the promotion of emotional competencies for diverse target groups in digital environments, is currently in its final stage at Chemnitz University of Technology. Her research examines the role of emotional competencies in health-related developmental processes, as well as the effectiveness of digital prevention and intervention approaches. A particular focus lies on evidence-based synthesis methods (meta-analyses) and the development of diagnostic instruments.
- Since April 2026, she has been affiliated with the Chair of Health Education at the University of Potsdam, where she contributes to the HBSC project on health and health behavior in children and adolescents.
