  • (course responsible: Jan O. Haerter, ClEWS Master's program, Fall Term 2023/2024) In order to get to know professional practice, the students carry out a guided self-study and a guided internship in the intended subject area of the Master's thesis.
  • (course responsible: Jan O. Haerter, ClEWS Master's program, Spring Term 2024) Equations of motion, energy budget, rotation effects (vortices, vortex streets, vortex sheets, Kelvin-Helmholtz instability).
  • (course responsible: Diana L. Monroy and Nicolas Da Silva, Physics BSc program, Winter Semester 2026/27) This course provides an introduction to the fundamental computational techniques and numerical methods used to model and solve scientific problems.
  • (course responsible: Karoline Wiesner, Jan O. Haerter, Physics MSc program, Winter Semester 2026/2027) This course introduces students to central concepts such as order parameters, universality, and the maximum entropy principle, while learning powerful tools including the Ising model, mean-field theory, renormalization group methods, and statistical field theory.
  • (course responsible: Karoline Wiesner, Jan O. Haerter, Physics and ClEWS MSc program, Summer Semester) This course offers a general perspective on emergent phenomena in complex systems, including mathematical treatment, models, as well as applications across the sciences.
