The project aims at driving redox reactions under irradiation by hybrid systems comprised of metal nanoparticles (antenna) and immobilized metal complexes (reactor). Reduction of the metal complex and oxidation of an organic molecule shall happen simultaneously by the plasmonically generated hot electron-hole pairs. Tuning parameters for all involved components will help to identify an antenna-reactor system which oxidizes selectively at mild conditions. This approach valorizes the hole scavenging “sacrificial” agents as starting materials for actually useful organic chemicals. Welcome Nora!
Nora Kulak joins the CRC with Project B06!
We are glad to announce that a new project has joined the CRC. Project B06 under the lead of Nora Kulak will run under the title "Light-driven redox reactions with metal complex/metal nanoparticle hybrids".
