Phase 1: Identify Challenges and Formulate a Research Question

Reflect as a team and share your teaching experiences in relation to your long-term goals for the classroom. Write down themes and ideas on a blackboard, flipchart or whiteboard to keep track of them. The following ideas may help you to identify possible challenges and questions that are relevant to you:

• What challenges do you face as a teacher in a particular subject or subject area?
• What pedagogical strategies would you like to try, introduce or develop?
• What thinking and learning processes do you want to understand better? 
• Is there a challenge in your teaching to which you would like to find a solution as a team?

If possible, specify the lesson topic, the unit, the class, and the date on which the research lesson will take place. You should also select the teacher from the team who will be giving the lesson.
