„Excitement, Challenges & Satisfaction!“

"For both intellectual and political reasons I believe it is vital to take knowledge out of the classroom and apply it in the so-called real world. The  Jewish Activism Summer School (JASS) helps extend the reach of my Chair and the School of Jewish Theology in an innovative way, effectively reaching a wider target audience of students who are not at Potsdam, non-students, professionals and young members of the community.

Because this voluntary project touches not just professional, but personal and even existential goals of mine, the excitement I feel, the challenges I face and the satisfaction I am given by running JASS wonderfully complement my research and regular teaching in a manner that renews my enthusiasm for the scholarly life."

„A global transfer of knowledge and experience.“

"Thanks to the international character of the ISC Potsdam, it's easy for all participants to draw comparisons between foreign countries, cultures and people. The global transfer of knowledge and experience goes without saying, naturally but essentially.

The excursions including trips to alternative living spaces for urban dropouts, for example,  as well as the active participation of students within the classes lets the summer run by, in a blink."

„We meet open students from all over the world!“

"As the organizer of the Summer School "Statistical Approaches to Developmental and Growth Data of Children and Adolescents", it is always nice to see how committed and open students from all over the world discuss their own research results with each other, how they question their own thought patterns and gratefully accept suggestions.

At the end of the week, they take the basics for their own publication in a peer-reviewed journal with them and we accompany them until the completion of their publication."
