EFRE grant 85000932: Improving the capabilities for genome sequencing and the identification of economically interesting genes and genotypes
(Verbesserung der Fähigkeit zur Genomsequenzierung und Identifikation wirtschaftlich interessanter Gene und Genotypen)
This grant partially paid for our latest toy, the Chromium System by 10x Genomics. This machine allows sequencing long synthetic reads from high-quality DNA, which in turns enables determining the phase of variable positions as well as high-quality de-novo genome assembly. The machine complements our sequencing equipment, including an Illumina Nextseq500 sequencer, and both we and other groups at our institute are looking forward to have it up and running.
