I am a PhD student at the Ecology & Ecosystem Modelling Group coming from a background in engineering physics and theoretical mathematics. I wrote my master thesis in evolutionary game theory and population dynamics at the Technical University of Munich.
My PhD is part of the DFG research unit DynaSym (FOR5726/1) where theoreticians and empiricists work together to study context and density dependent shifts in symbiosis form between two partners. I am part of subproject 2 where we through mechanistic and phenomenological models investigate these shifts, their underlying mechanisms and what consequences this have for the overall population dynamics in photosynthetical endosymbiosis. With this we aim to help extend the theory of symbiotic partners interacting and my vision is that at the end of the project our understanding of what makes photosymbiosis stable and successful in nature, but also sensitive to environmental change, will have increased.
