Akademische Tätigkeit
Dr. Andreas Heißel ist an der Professur für Sozial- und Präventivmedizin der Universität Potsdam tätig. Seine Arbeit verbindet eigenständige Forschung, universitäre Lehre sowie die Koordination interdisziplinärer Forschungs- und Transferaktivitäten an der Schnittstelle von psychischer Gesundheit, körperlicher Aktivität und Gesundheitsversorgung.
Seine Arbeiten sind regelmäßig in nationale und internationale wissenschaftliche, fachliche und praxisbezogene Kooperationen eingebunden.
Er verfügt über einen interdisziplinären akademischen Hintergrund in den Sportwissenschaften, der Politikwissenschaft und der Erziehungswissenschaft und promovierte im Fach Sportpsychologie.
Forschungsschwerpunkte
Die Forschungsarbeiten von Dr. Heißel befassen sich mit psychischer und emotionaler Gesundheit über die Lebensspanne hinweg, insbesondere mit psychologischen Mechanismen, Motivation und körperlicher Aktivität in präventiven, klinischen und versorgungsnahen Kontexten. Zentrale Themen sind:
• Psychische Gesundheit, Depression, Angststörungen und chronische Schmerzen
• Psychologische Grundbedürfnisse, Motivation und Verhaltensänderung
• Bewegung und körperliche Aktivität in der psychischen Gesundheitsversorgung
• Mind-Body-Ansätze, einschließlich Achtsamkeits-, Atem- und Meditationsverfahren
• Patient*innenberichtete Outcomes (PROMs), Wirksamkeitsforschung und Evidenzsynthesen (u. a. Meta-Analysen)
Er ist in klinische, translationale und versorgungsorientierte Forschungsprojekte eingebunden und veröffentlicht regelmäßig in internationalen, peer-reviewten Fachzeitschriften sowie in der Übertragung dieser Forschung in klinische und versorgungsbezogene Anwendungskontexte tätig.
Translation, Transfer und Kooperationen
Ein zentrales Merkmal seiner Tätigkeit ist die systematische Verknüpfung von Forschung, Lehre und Praxis. Dr. Heißel ist maßgeblich an der Entwicklung, Implementierung und Evaluation evidenzbasierter Interventionen und Qualifizierungsformate beteiligt und wirkt an der Koordination nationaler und internationaler Kooperationen an der Schnittstelle von Wissenschaft, Versorgung und Praxis mit. Dadurch trägt er zur nachhaltigen Übertragung wissenschaftlicher Erkenntnisse in gesundheitsbezogene Anwendungsfelder bei.
Lehre und Nachwuchsförderung
Dr. Heißel ist in der Lehre auf Bachelor-, Master- und Promotionsebene tätig. Er lehrt unter anderem bewegungsbezogene Therapieansätze in der psychischen Gesundheit, Mind-Body-Verfahren sowie fortgeschrittene Forschungsmethoden wie systematische Reviews und Meta-Analysen. Zudem ist er in die Betreuung und das Mentoring von Nachwuchswissenschaftler*innen in den Sport- und Gesundheitswissenschaften, der Psychologie und der Medizin eingebunden.
