Selection criteria

Applicants will be asked to submit a substantial outline of their proposed dissertation project. The academic quality of this project and its relevance for the RTG’s research profile will form the main criteria for the selection of candidates.

Additional criteria are:

• excellent academic qualification with particular relevance to the RTG;
• motivation;
• timely completion of higher education with an above-average degree;
• preferably initial experience in academic work.

The RTG is committed to difference and diversity, and strongly encourages applications by international doctoral candidates, especially from the Global South. The selection process will take into account issues of gender imbalance as well other factors of structural disadvantage.
