Partnerschaften und Kooperationen bilden das Herzstück der Internationalisierung und sind eine wichtige Komponente in Forschung und Lehre. Sie bilden die Grundlage für Austauschprogramme und können durch die Nutzung von Synergie-Effekten wissenschaftliche Projekte erheblich vorantreiben. Auf Fakultätsebene gibt es verschiedene Partnerschaften, die die universitätsweiten Partnerschaften ergänzen. Im Folgenden eine Übersicht über aktuelle Partnerschaftsprojekte.
envisonMENTAL
Prof. Dr. Dr. Michael Rapp
We implemented the StreetMind digital health assessment platform for EMA data collection. The platform was presented and discussed within the German Center for Mental Health (DZPG) to facilitate its future integration into additional research projects and mental health monitoring initiatives. Data collection in the KiGGS cohort study was successfully completed, and comprehensive analyses are being prepared. These analyses will provide the basis for scientific publications and support the further validation and application of the digital assessment tool in large-scale population studies.
How Prediction Errors Shape Social Perceptions: From Behavioral and Psychophysiological Correlates to Psychopathological Susceptibility

This collaborative project, funded by the EDUC-WIDE Alliance and coordinated at the University of Potsdam, investigates how expectations and their fulfillment or violation shape social perception. Previous research has shown that individuals who behave in ways that align with observers’ expectations tend to be perceived as more trustworthy and likable than those who behave unexpectedly.
Building on these findings, the project seeks to advance our understanding of the neurophysiological mechanisms underlying expectation-based social perception and to explore their relevance for psychopathological vulnerability. The project is organized into two complementary research branches involving researchers from the University of Potsdam (Dr. Carlos Ventura-Bort (PI), Prof. Dr. Mathias Weymar), the University Jaume I, Spain (Prof. Dr. Rosario Poy Gil, Prof. Pilar Segarra Cabedo, Dr. Pablo Ribes-Guardiola), and the University of Pécs, Hungary (Prof. Dr. Anita Déak).
The research branch conducted at the University of Potsdam explores whether neural and autonomic responses in social contexts can be understood as reflecting the dynamic interplay between expectations and their fulfillment or violation. The branch carried out at the University Jaume I and the University of Pécs investigates whether difficulties in integrating expectations during the formation of social perceptions are associated with individual differences in vulnerability to psychopathology, includinginternalizing and externalizing symptoms and behaviors.
Together, these research efforts aim to provide a more comprehensive understanding of how expectations shape social cognition, the biological mechanisms underlying these processes, and their implications for mental health.
Speech production processes in resolving articulatory variation

The project 'Speech production processes in resolving articulatory variation’, funded by Leverhulme Trust (UK), is a collaboration between University College London (UCL) and University of Potsdam. This is an interdisciplinary inquiry spanning phonetics, speech sciences, cognitive science and cognitive neuropsychology, involving experts in these areas (Professor Patti Adank, UCL; Dr Chris Carignan, UCL; Professor Adamantios Gafos, Potsdam). Its stated aim is to better understand the nature of perception and production in speech, with a specific focus on the role of imitation which can either facilitate or interfere with speech production processes. Methodologically, this project is unique in that it combines an experimental paradigm used in cognitive psychology (the Stimulus-Response Compatibility or SRC paradigm) with specialist speech sciences methods including electromagnetic articulography (EMA) and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) in order to ask the following questions: (1) How do the listeners adjust their speech production when there is a conflict between perceptually- and goal-driven articulatory targets? (2) What is the role of the motor cortex (M1) in resolving articulatory conflicts? Partnerschaft mit dem National Institute of Education (NIE) in Singapur

Mit der kürzlich vereinbarten Partnerschaft mit dem National Institute of Education (NIE) in Singapur (ein Institut der Nanyang Technological University, Singapore) haben Lehramtsstudierende der Universität Potsdam die Möglichkeit, in einer der spannendsten Metropolen Asiens ein Auslandssemester oder ein Praktikum zu absolvieren.
Und das Beste daran: Sie müssen keine Studiengebühren an der Gastuniversität bezahlen, für Praktika stehen ausgewählte Schulen zur Verfügung, Unterkünfte werden bereitgestellt (Miete günstiger als ortsüblich) und alle Angebote finden in Englisch statt!
Die Partnerschaft sieht vor, dass Studierende im Bachelor zwischen einem Auslandssemester oder einem Praktikum wählen können. Masterstudierende können sich ausschließlich für einen Praktikumsplatz bewerben. Das Praktikum läuft in der Regel zwischen 4-6 Wochen.
Der Austausch findet 2x jährlich im Winter - und im Sommersemester statt . Am NIE startet das Wintersemester im September und das Sommersemester im Januar.

Teaching Mobilities with Erasmus+ and Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Training

Promoting the mobility of teachers is a concern of the university as part of the internationalization strategy for the coming years. The Erasmus Annual Report 2014 has once again shown that the University of Potsdam ranks 5th in Germany in terms of teacher mobility. You can be as proud of that as we are! Teacher mobility should include the development of joint study programs of the two partner universities and the exchange of teaching content and methods. Her teaching period must be at least eight lessons per week. You can apply for a teaching position if you have a contractual relationship with the University of Potsdam. The technical and administrative staff (central and decentralized) can also benefit from the program. The program offers the opportunity to travel to partners to exchange experiences, to attend internships or to gain further education. For continuing education and training purposes, university staff may be employed at a German university to be promoted to a receiving institution participating in the "Erasmus+" program, or to any other institution located in another programming country that is active in the labor market or in education, training or youth. This activity promotes the professional development of higher education staff through training abroad (except for conferences) and through visits to a partner university or equivalent facilities abroad. The minimum length of stay at the receiving institution should not be less than two working days and should not exceed 60 days.

MAGRIP: Vorhersagekraft von kognitiven Kompetenzprofilen und Persönlichkeitseigenschaften über die Lebensspanne

Können kognitive Kompetenzprofile und Persönlichkeitseigenschaften von Grundschulkindern schulischen und beruflichen Erfolg, Gesundheit und subjektives Wohlbefinden über die Lebensspanne vorhersagen? Mit dieser Frage beschäftigt sich das MAGRIP-Projekt, das auf Daten einer repräsentativen Luxemburger Längsschnittstichprobe basiert. MAGRIP ist ein Kooperationsprojekt, das wir mit Dr. Fischbach und Prof. Romain Martin (beide Universität Luxemburg), Dr. Gertraud Stadler (University of Aberdeen) und Dr. Jean-Paul Steinmetz, Zitha Kliniken Luxemburg) und Prof. Oliver Lüdtke (IPN Kiel) durchführen. Bislang untersuchte MAGRIP einen Vorhersagezeitraum über 40 Jahre von der Grundschulzeit bis ins mittlere Erwachsenenalter. Im Mittelpunkt der nächsten Erhebungswelle von MAGRIP steht nun die Erweiterung der bisherigen Ergebnisse für die Lebensspanne von 12 bis 62 Jahre.
Cooperation with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is the largest university in Greece. Our cooperation with Dr. Vassilis Barkoukis and Prof. Tsorbatzoudis Haralambos from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Science is characterized by joint research projects on doping in sports (funded by the World Anti-Doping Agency and the European Union). The partnership further includes a bilateral agreement on a regular participation in the Erasmus exchange program for students and lecturers.
IDEALAB

The PhD Program International Doctorate for Experimental Approaches to Language And Brain (IDEALAB) offers an outstanding interdisciplinary, laboratory-based 3-year doctoral training to its candidates to study structure, processing and foundations of human language integrating interdisciplinary approaches.
For this purpose, three European universities and one non-European university joined together to provide an intellectual environment for original and independent research on experimental and clinical aspects of language and the brain. A joint curriculum and a common research training program cumulate in a joint degree. Candidates benefit from co-supervision of at least two professors of the network and courses at joint summer- and winterschools.

The invention of devices capable of transcutaneous stimulation of the vagus nerve via its auricular branch (tVNS) has reinvigorated research on the effects of vagus nerve stimulation. tVNS is currently being studied and marketed as a treatment for a wide range of psychiatric and neurological disorders, including depression, anxiety, headache, epilepsy, and chronic pain. While initial promising effects of tVNS have already been shown, the research field is still in its infancy, and several key questions that could further accelerate scientific and clinical research on this technique remain unanswered.
This research network offers the unique opportunity to consolidate and intensify collaborations between internationally renowned research groups, to create a truly multidisciplinary research consortium. The Flemish research groups in the network offer internationally renowned expertise on VNS, both from a clinical standpoint using invasive VNS (UGent) and from a fundamental research standpoint. The non-Flemish research groups of the proposed network have critically contributed to researching the fundamental questions underlying tVNS research, and will provide complementary expertise on psychophysiology, neuro-gastroenterology, (autonomic) neuroscience, anesthesiology, and clinical psychology.
The proposed research network will set out to reach the following key objectives within the first five years:
1) Consolidate and extend research collaboration.
2) Facilitate interdisciplinary and international research opportunities.
3) Establish formal guidelines on how to conduct and report tVNS research.
4) Facilitate multi-lab projects focusing on fundamental research questions.
