The International Summer Academy Sans Souci is composed of two components: One focus is on learning German as a foreign language, including practical Phonetics. The other part of your weekly program are seminars and projects of your individual choice.

Cultural Courses
The following cultural highlights are included in the course fee:
- Excursions which are relevant with regard to the course material and which will be integrated, as agreed with the lecturers, in the seminars' or projects' schedule*;
- Excursions to introduce you to historical and cultural highlights of our region, which will help you get to know Brandenburg a little better.
The excursions belonging to the seminars or projects will be announced along with the seminar schedule at the beginning of the course. These excursions will deepen the knowledge that you will gain in the seminars and should help you to better understand the subjects discussed in class by providing a "hands-on" experience of the places you heard about in class.
External excursions in Potsdam, Berlin, and their surroundings will be designed for everyone and therefore, they will be planned to take place on days when there are no classes.
These excursions are:
- a Potsdam City Tour including a visit of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Park Sanssouci*,
- a Berlin City Tour focusing on Berlin's central district and its change in time*,
- two interregional day trips on two different weekends,
- as well as a Welcome Party with a buffet at a students' pub in the center of Potsdam.
Please note that you will need a ticket for public transportation. This is not included in the course fees. Transfers for excursions within seminars and projects through Potsdam & Berlin are not included in the course fees. You should buy a Berlin ABC ticket for the entire course period (August) directly after your arrival in Germany. We will, however, provide the transfers for the tours beyond Potsdam & Berlin.
