Qualification program

Starting in October 2015, the research training group offers a specialized qualification programme for its PhD students right from the start. The educational goals are to train young researchers in an inter-disciplinary manner that will enable them to explore the complex structure of transient hydro-meteorological or geophysical events. Lectures, exercises and block courses are structured into the three themes:

1. Data Analysis and Statistical Methods (DAS),
2. Risk Quantification (QR),
3. Hazard Analysis and Modelling (HM & GP)

of which students can choose relevant courses.

In addition, key skill courses and innovative study forms such as interdisciplinary task force(s) or self-organized retreats are part of the qualification programme. In total, lectures, key skill courses and task force trainings sum up to 30 ECTS.
