The seminar on ore deposits associated with alkaline rocks and carbonatites in Freiberg from the 9th of June until the 10th of June 2022 was informative and productive. We would like to thank  Marion Tichomirowa and other people at TU Freiberg for organizing the meeting. Seven speakers (Dominik Gudelius, Marion Tichomirowa, Sven Sindern, Hripsme Gevorgyan, Rachid Benouda, Roman Botcharnikov, and Ilya Veksler) presented preliminary results of the ongoing DOME projects and outlooks for possible directions of future research. Much attention in the presentations and discussions was given to the role of metasomatic processes in the remobilization, transport, and concentration of ore-forming components in ultramafic-alkaline-carbonatitic igneous complexes. Another theme that repeatedly surfaced in the talks and discussions was the idea of vertical zonation of rock facies and mineralization types inside the complexes. This meeting was a good starting point for discussions of links between our projects and directions for our future collaboration in the second part of DOME.
