Dr. Johannes Gurke is the main contact person for the FabLab. At the end of June, he gave us a tour of the facility as part of the activities of our graduate school, the IRTG – for which we are very grateful!
The FabLab also helped us bring an interesting idea for the upcoming LMR 2026 conference to life: producing shopping trolley tokens engraved with the CRC/LMR logo as a little giveaway! Many thanks to Prof. Amitabh Banerji for the idea and, of course, to Tom Fielitz, a PhD researcher in the group of Dr. Matthias Hartlieb, for his professional help and patience. He managed to produce around 200 colourful pieces within just a couple of hours! Many thanks as well to Sophie and Amy, the new student assistants in the Banerji group, for their helping hands!
