Effective PowerPoint Presentations Workshop by Prof. Andrea Baldi

To underline the great interest in the event, one has to mention that every single chair in our seminar room was occupied :)

The style and main idea Prof. Baldi aimed to convey was the effectiveness of simplicity, minimalism, and the importance of free space. Prof. Baldi advises us to “reduce the noise” — which, by the way, is one of the three main communication laws of the famous presentation-skills expert from whom Prof. Baldi had the chance to learn directly: Dr. Jean-luc Doumont.

We very much enjoyed the interactive session, which offered many opportunities for discussion and exchange with Prof. Baldi. He concluded his workshop with a quote by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry:

“Perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.”

To stay short and minimalistic, the only thing left to say — which definitely cannot be taken away — is: grazie mille! :)
