Under the title “The Nanodisco – Where Gold and Silver Particles Dance in the Light”, the interactive lectures combined scientific insights with live experiments, demonstrating the unique optical properties and behavior of metal nanoparticles. Through these hands-on experiments, pupils experienced how gold and silver nanoparticles interact with light in surprising and colorful ways.
Each 45-minute experimental lecture was supported by Tobias Schröter (Master’s student in chemistry education). Thumbs up to the Tobi² team! 😉
CRC 1636 is looking forward to continuing to inspire young people with exciting insights into nanotechnology — and to exploring its mysteries together.
👉 Join us at the Potsdamer Tag der Wissenschaften on May 9, 2026, where we will present similar experiments at our CRC booth (PTDW).
