These are the experiments we are currently running:

Alphabet

Type: Acceptability judgment

Language: German

Participant groups: German Native speakers ages 18-35 and 60+ years old, from Berlin or Brandenburg

Task: Fill out an online questionnaire which asks participants to rate the acceptability of German sentences on a scale from one (very good) to five (very bad)

Duration: 45-60 minutes to fill out the questionnaire

Payment: 8€

Location: Questionnaire can be filled out from home, or we can meet to complete it in Berlin or Brandenburg

Baboon

Type: Reaction time experiment

Language: German

Participant groups: German native speakers, Russian native speakers with a high command of German

Task: lexical decision (decide whether it is a word in German or not)

Duration: 30 minutes

Payment: 5€

Location: Potsdam or Berlin

INDIFF

Type: Lexical Decision

Language: English 

Participant group: German native speakers

Requirements for participation:

- German is your only native language

- You started learning English at or after age 6

- You are proficient in English (level: B2-C2)

- You are between 18 and 35 years old

Task: Decide as quickly and accurately as possible if a series of words are existing words of English or not

Duration: 25-30 minutes for the experiment, 15-20 minutes for additional proficiency assessments

Payment: 8€ or 1 VP-Stunde
