Position DR/002/24 – PhD student Kaufmann group

Research assistant (m/f/d) with expected 65% of regular working hours - E 13 TV-L HU (third-party funding limited until December 31, 2027)

Area of responsibility:

  • Participation in research in the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center SFB 1644 "Phenotypic Plasticity in Plants - Mechanisms, Limitations and Evolution".
  • Subproject A1 analyzes mechanisms of gene regulatory plasticity in flower development under different environmental conditions.
  • Molecular biological, genetic and phenotypic analyses of plant
  • Experiments in the field of single-cell genomics.
  • Collaboration with bioinformaticians on interpretation of genome-wide datasets and experimental validation
  • Scientific qualification (doctorate) is anticipated.

Requirements:

  • Completed scientific university degree in biology, biochemistry or a related discipline (with above-average results, students close to graduation are also invited to apply);
  • theoretical and practical knowledge of molecular biology and genetics
  • interest in gene regulation and (plant) development
  • good English knowledge
