Women in Science Day
21 November 2025 at University of Potsdam
Building networks for women in science and sparking conversations on careers and family
We are excited to announce our first Women in Science Day, taking place on 21 November 2025 at the University of Potsdam.
This special event will celebrate the achievements and experiences of women in the life sciences, with a focus on fields such as plant biology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics. Beyond highlighting excellent research, the event is designed to strengthen networking among female scientists and to address structural challenges such as balancing family life and a scientific career.
The program will feature:
- Scientific presentations by female researchers across different career stages
- Personal insights into career paths, challenges, and successes as women in science
- Panel discussions on topics such as gender equity in science, navigating career and family life, and building supportive research environments
- Small-group discussion rounds with our invited speakers, offering the opportunity to ask individual questions and exchange ideas in a more personal setting
Women in Science Day will provide a platform for dialogue, inspiration, and networking across disciplines and generations. By bringing together scientists at different stages of their careers, we aim to empower women in science and foster professional networks. Everyone is welcome to join—students, researchers, faculty, and allies—who want to support a more inclusive and diverse scientific community.
