The scientific institutions located in Golm constitute the center of natural science research in Brandenburg. They include several departments and institutes of the University of Potsdam, as well as the Brandenburg State Archives, the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research (IAP), the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology's department of bioanalytics and bioprocesses (Fraunhofer IZI-BB), the Golm Innovation Center, GO:INcubator GmbH, and the Max Planck Institutes for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute), for Colloids and Interfaces, and for Molecular Plant Physiology.

The Coordination Office is located in Building 1 in the Institute of Environmental Science and Geography.
