Melanie Jacobsen completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the Freie Universität Berlin and her Master’s degree in Work, Organizational, and Health Psychology at both the Freie Universität Berlin and KU Leuven. Her master’s thesis centered around misogynistic online ideologies as conspiracy theories and predictors of the belief in these ideologies. She joined the Weizenbaum Institute as a researcher in February 2025 and is part of the research group “Well-being in the Digital World“. The main topics of her dissertation are the impacts of online incivility on well-being and behavioral outcomes of online incivility as well as the impacts of gendered influencer content on societal attitudes.
