Knowledge-based precision crop production in a mixed farm

New grant: DigiMix-PA (2022-2025)

The aim of the joint project is to test, research and demonstrate a fully digitized production chain for knowledge-based, site-specific precision crop production in a Brandenburg mixed farm. The technical infrastructure of the Leibniz-Innovationshof for sustainable bioeconomy is to be expanded into a lively, open future-oriented company in which precision plant cultivation is practiced, further developed and made tangible for farmers, decision-makers and the interested public.

In the sub-project of the University of Potsdam, immersive, VR-based forms of communication are designed, developed and tested in order to support the transfer of the project results on three levels:

  • Impart skills for the professional operation of precision agricultural technology
  • Creating an understanding of the potential of precision farming
  • Creating awareness for higher-level functional cycles

The VR application with usage perspectives on agricultural equipment and material cycles is being developed in an agile, participatory process together with regional actors.
