Harald Fuhr has been Professor of International Politics at the University of Potsdam since 1997. Since 1999, he has been Co-Director of the Master of Public Management (MPM) Program and is currently Spokesperson for the DFG Research Training Group "WIPCAD" at the University of Potsdam. Prior to his position in Potsdam, he worked as Sr. Public Sector Management Specialist at the World Bank, Washington, D.C. (1993-1997) and was a principal author of the World Development Report 1997. A political scientist and economist by training (University of Konstanz), he has taught at York University, Toronto, York University (Toronto), Universidad de Costa Rica (San Jose), Sadat Academy for Management Sciences (Kairo), Universita di Milano, and NIDA (Bangkok) Canada and carried out numerous assignments as a consultant for the Federal Ministry for Economic Co-operation and Development (BMZ), GIZ, the World Bank and the UNDP. His current research activities focus on governance issues in developing countries, international development and climate change.
