We are delighted to announce that CRC 1644 has recruited three talented researchers—Samsad Razzaque, Philipp Wendering, and Daria Scintu—who have joined the CRC as associate members.
Dr. Razzaque has recently been appointed through the University Funding Scheme (UFS). He comes from the Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology Laboratory at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and brings a background in ecological and evolutionary genetics.
Dr. Scintu joined CRC 1644 from the University of Rome. Her research focuses on plant developmental plasticity, particularly Arabidopsis root growth responses to environmental stress.
Dr. Wendering has been a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Cambridge. He has a strong interdisciplinary background in plant biology and computational modelling, with a focus on the effects of temperature on plant metabolism.
Over the next two years, all three researchers will work closely with the consortium to develop independent project proposals aligned with the scientific programme of CRC 1644, with the aim of contributing to the second funding period.
Their integration into CRC 1644 reflects our commitment to supporting emerging scientific talent and fostering innovative, interdisciplinary research on phenotypic plasticity in plants. We very much look forward to their contributions and to the continued development of our research community.
