Workshop | Introducing Unconscious Bias

Introducing Unconscious Bias

How do unconscious assumptions shape how we see the world — and one another? How do they influence professional decisions, behaviours, and interactions in academic settings.

This online workshop offers an introduction to the concept of unconscious bias and its relevance in the research environment. We will explore how implicit assumptions affect everyday academic life — from networking, collaboration, and methodology to recruitment and supervision.

Through input and interactive exercises, participants will recognise and better understand these biases, and will be invited to consider strategies for navigating them more mindfully and ultimately contributing to more equitable and inclusive research cultures.

Gabi Rosenstreich (she/her) is a diversity trainer and consultant with extensive experience in academia, public administration, and NGOs. www.rosenstreich.net
