Who we are

The QueerUP@work network is an association of employees at the University of Potsdam who identify with the LGBTQIA+ spectrum or feel connected to its concerns. We want to highlight the great diversity that exists among our staff and represent this diversity.

What is important to us

We do not see ourselves as an action group, but rather as a space for exchange, visibility and mutual support. Our goal is to show that we are connected and stand up for each other. When discriminatory situations or structures arise, we take a clear stand and advocate for respectful and appreciative coexistence.

How we work

The network was launched on the initiative of the Coordination Office for Equal Opportunities (KfC) and has since been coordinated independently – by employees for employees.

What we do

We meet once a month for collegial exchange and organise joint activities such as games or film evenings, and we participate as a team in the annual company run. In this way, we create space for encounters, conversations and community beyond the everyday work routine.

We welcome new faces and anyone who would like to contribute to diversity.
