Complexity Science for Real World Data
In our research group, in addition to doctoral and postdoctoral students, numerous master's students are working on a wide range of topics from cosmology to climate science. We present these topics here.
Cosmological Simulations
In his master thesis, Moritz Itzerott is experimenting with a new method to find coherent structure in large scale cosmological simulations. This is very important to later compare these simulations with real-world observations. Displayed in the picture is one of these simulations, where each datapoint is colored by the local density. Large, high-density structures can be clearly seen, but filament-like structures that connect these nodes like threads are also visible.
